Drinking and Driving on the Road

This is one thing that you do not want to do no matter how old you are or how long you have been driving. Statistics show that even after your first drink your body can become impaired and you become confused in your decision process. Police are cracking down on drunk drivers and drivers under the influence driving on the highways. If they see a car that may look as if the driver is acting funny they will pull the car over to see if the driver is under the influence. They will give the driver a breathalyzer test to see if they have been driving and are under the influence. If they are then they have earned a free ride to the police station and a tow truck will pick up their car and take it to the impound lot.
Tickets are expensive for drunk drivers and can cost you in points on your driving record at the Department of Motor Vehicles. If you get too many points a couple of things will happen, your auto insurance rate will increase and you may risk losing your license for a period of time. As the points drop off your record your auto insurance rates may decrease but that is not always a guarantee it really does depend on the auto insurance copy and the risk they are willing to take keeping you as a client. If you get too many tickets for drinking not only will you lose your license but you could possibly do jail time.
There are some people who have had to serve eight months to one year and had lost their license for five years and when they were finally able to get it back it was a Cinderella's license initially meaning it was good to use for work only. Free online auto insurance rates are the way to go if you want to see if another company will give you a break on the price for your auto insurance premiums. Do not count on it though; driving under the influence is one thing that has become harder to get off your driving record. You become a risk to the people on the road, the auto insurance company, and to yourself.
