A Call at Night

It never fails when you are about to go to bed or have just gotten into bed the children call. You wonder to yourself if it will ever end. You answer the telephone and hear your daughter crying and your heart stops beating. You ask what happened and she says she was just in an accident, the roads were wet and she tried to stop but hit a patch of leaves and ran into a stone wall. The car started to climb it and stopped when all four tires were off the ground.
She was not sure what to do and you told her to call a tow truck and you would come out and get her. You had just added the towing package a month ago when you were online checking your auto insurance rates and saw it was only a couple of dollars. You met her there and saw the car and did not think the car would be able to be fixed but did not say anything because she was so upset. The tow truck towed the car off the stone wall and brought it to a shop you knew and would call them in the morning.
When you got her home and she told you again what had happened you had to call the insurance company so they could send a claims adjuster to where the car was at the shop. To your surprise the damage was not as bad as you thought and it was fixed within a couple of weeks. You only had to pay the deductible and were glad when you had checked your auto insurance rates online last month that you did not change the deductible on your policy. You were thinking about it to lower your premiums.
Now, even though your daughter still drives your car when it rains you notice she is in the house early and pretty well stays home. You know it will take time for her to get over the accident but are also glad she took the accident serious and learned that anything can happen when roads are wet.
